I like that. No one actually reads the pain scale so anyone who has the worst pain they’ve ever experienced calls it a 10.
When I was in the hospital screaming with a kidney stone the nurse said, “I’m not even going to ask - that’s a 10” and even in my pain fractured brain I was thinking “9” because “10” is “hand crushed in a press, probably passed out” on the chart I remembered.
Even when I’m in the ER screaming in pain I’m a pedantic PITA.
