played another Tacoma Guild D-55 at Elderly Instruments last week. Nice woods, excellent workmanship, sounded great. Puts the China Guilds in perspective when you play one of these. The GAD models are nice for the low price, but I still think if Fender wanted to import Chinese guitars they should have changed the headstock / logo.

Interestingly, there was a used but like new '94 Westerly JF-55 for $1200 in the rack that was far superior to the new D-55 in terms of sound, I would've snagged it over the D-55 for $2100. This probably isn't a fair comparison because when the D-55 ages some the sound will likely open up.
