Just wondering if there is a difference between the P-90 PU's on the X500T and the X550 Gonzales model. I know they are both Duncans.

From what I heard they're the same thing, Duncan antiquities, made for Fender/Guild without the aged covers or polescrews.

P-90's

Yeah and DO NOT sound like Franz coils at all. I took them out of my X500T. I have Dearmonds in there now and I like it a lot better.

Yep

Yes that is Tenesee Orange. That was a guitar I got direct from Guild as an "Artist Accommodation" So now I can say I am a Guild Endorser! But the P-90's that were in it did not sound really good to my ears, certainly not like a Franz coil. I dig the way the Martin DeArmonds have those paralellagram openings. I wish I would have waited and got a Gonzales Model instead.

That's a pretty guitar you have there. You mentioned the Gonzales model. Are they not the Duncan P-90's in those models.

Yeah they are, but I would probably spring for some old Franz Coils for that. I have a couple of sets araound.

Hi everybody,

For the people who have never seen the Martin DeArmonds up close, here's a photo of a set that was part of the 'load of old Guild parts' I recently scored. In the past I have seen 2 original Guilds with those pickups as factory equipment; one of 'm was an '80s reissue of the Guild Duane Eddy. Looked very cool! Too bad there were just a few of them!

Cheers!

Hello Billy,

I was afraid that someone was going to ask me that!
I'm sorry! They're already spoken for.

Martin style DeArmonds

oh yes, forgot to mention that the pre-wired pots are dated 1966 so it's quite a rare find after so many years.
