Smaller Headstock on a D50NT

Hello:

I have a 1990 D50NT (Great Guitar). Does anyone know why this guitar would have a smaller headstock than other Guilds? It is not as wide at the top of the peghead.

That's the redesigned Guild headstock that more or less replaced the traditional Guild headstock on all of the lower line and some of the other higher-end models during the second half of the '80s. A few of the high end ones, like the D-55 and the F-50, kept the 'old' headstock.
