Allright, I know this is the Guild forum, but I thought some of you may be interested as well. (I know there's quite a lot of Belgians around here !) As some may know, I work in a musicstore in Belgium (Keymusic Sint Niklaas) and we are having Mike Lewis, International Marketing Manager for a clinic about Gretsch guitars. He'll bring along a bunch of guitars, and you can bring yours to for info and such. He is supposed to be a real specialist on the matter. If you come, make sure you send your reservation to marketing@keymusic.com and come have a drink on my boss' acount !

Bah, I'm in the US until the 29th, and I would have loved to meet Mike Lewis. tell him hi from me if you get the chance.

Having a good time playing over here though, I'm in Austin now.

Great clinic yesterday with Mike Lewis, very nice guy too. Brought along some cool gretsch guitars as well, a black falcon and a 6120 western with dynasonics got my blood running a little faster, but looking at my vintage Guilds here at home is easing the fever pretty well. Mike told me to greet Billy and Walter here on the forum. Walter, you played his town (Scottsdale, Arizona ?) but he couldn't make it and said he is very sorry. I told him he should be ! Mike is trying to get me an original pickguard for my 63 Starfire III, and said there's still a lot of old stuff lying around. I bet a lot of us would want to search their stash !
I also heard, though it could be just a rumour, production of new guilds is still at a slow pace, since not all the equipment from the original factory has been set up to work completely at the california plant. Good news is that the European prices on new guilds are probably going down in the future.
