I recently picked up a Bluesbird serial number CL001269. From what I see online this would be a Rhode Island BB but the Guild booklet in the case has an Arizona address on it (Fender Musical Instruments). Any idea where and when it's from?

BTW, it sounds great!

Hello Jack,

Serial # CL001269 would make it an instrument from 1998. It was indeed made in Westerly, RI but at that time the Guild company was already owned by Fender, who have their headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ.

Enjoy!

Thanks Hans!

You seem to know quite a bit about these guitars. Someone at Harmony Central posted a review saying that the CA Bluesbirds sounded better and were better balanced than the Westerly Bluesbirds. Have you ever heard this or do you have any comments regarding it?

Thanks,
- Jack
