Hello,

I am a new member of letstalkguild and I really love this site!
I work as a director and as a sounddesigner for german radio stations.
I am interested in a 1992 Guild X-160 Savoy. But I can`t find somthing about the specs of this guitar at the web . So maybe there is someone here who could help me with some informations. The measures of the body, nut width, is the body laminated, the pickups etc.

Last year I got a used Guild D-50 (build in 1976) which was in a really poor condition when I bought it . But the local Luthier did a really good job. Since them and by reading the fantastic book of Hans Moust (a BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Moust) I fell in love with Guild guitars.

Greetings from Germany

Peter

early '90s Guild X-160 Savoy

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the compliments re. the Guild book.

The X-160 from that particular period is more or less the same guitar as the X-170 (Mini) Manhattan but with somewhat less deluxe ornamentation.
Chrome parts instead of gold, dot inlays instead of the big squares, less deluxe bindings but other than that it's pretty much the same guitar.

The body width is 42 cm at the widest point and the depth is a little over 6 cm, nut width is fairly narrow at 4,2 cm.
It is a laminated maple body and the pickups are the traditional Guild HB-1 large format humbuckers.

If there's anything else you would like to know, just get back here and we'll try to help you out.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust
