I have an F4ce which I may have set up exclusively for slide-playing.
If not, I will buy another (Guild) guitar for that purpose.
Trouble is, I like the aesthetics of cutaway models which rather limits my choice of models. Plus of course, upper fret access is enhanced.
I don't care for Dreadnaughts, and Jumbos are, well, "jumbo !"
What then can I consider, past or present (F47ce ?) that will fulfill my needs, considering that I would want to fit the heaviest gauge strings possible ?
Or, would going above mediums be a no-no ?
And, is the F4 a bit "lightweight" for this purpose ?

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Coastie,

I can't give you a definitive answer other than to tell you that in a '97-'98 Guild Gallery I have, "lights" (.012-.053) are recommended on all Guild acoustics with the exception of the Deco, Finesse and Valencia. On those Guild recommended "mediums" (.013-.056). Personally, I would be apprehensive.
