Does anybody know of any good CDs or DVDs with Buddy Guy playing a Guild? He's one of the greatest, but I can't stand that thin strat tone of his of the last 20 years. So I'd like to get some of the old CDs of him playing a Guild. The only CD of his I found with a Guild on the cover is this:

I can't tell for sure if he's using a Guild on this one, but it sure is a fatter tone. However, the songs and playing aren't that great.

Any suggestions? (Besides that, Coastie.)

Also.....

John Mayall "Blues Alive" features, among others, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. Nice slide from Mick Taylor.

I have the VHS version- sorry, can't help with DVD info.

I just ordered Stone Crazy.

I'm going to have to pass on the other one because Mayall's voice bothers me as much as Iris Dement's. Mayall surrounds himself with the greatest, but I don't know why he insists on singing when he could hire a great singer, and then just play keyboards and harmonica.

I'm sorry Darryl, I don't know.
I understand he has played either a Bluesbird or Nightbird on recordings too, but can't find any further information anywhere.

If you want to hear him on Guild acoustic, try this..........

Buddy Guy & Junior Wells "Alone & Acoustic". Alligator D30709
