I guess Hans will check in and tell us what that one is. It looks like the archtop forerunner to the Bluesbird which was intended to compete with the Les Paul. That one is a true arch top because you can see the standard Guild tailpiece.

It looks like an M-75, but it's been modded. It appears to have had an extra control (black knob near the pick guard), likely a master volume added. Are those the Franz pickups? Pic 2 makes it look like a flat top.

Hi Guys,

I am pretty sure this guitar is an Aristocrat that was modified to include a master volume control on the upper cutaway bout. The first picture is kind of blurry but shows the Frantz pickups. When you zoom in on the 2nd picture the Frantz pups are real clear and you can see the additional master volume control. The third picture clearly show the Harp stop of an hollow body Aristocrat and the headstock has the standard Chesterfied design with the NON raised headstock. My bet is that his is one of the later model Aristocrats made around 1961. The finish looks pretty good so it may have a newer clear coat on it. Wasn't a Blond Aristocrat on ebay or gbase a frew months back with a refinish job?

A late model Blond Aristocrat is my vote.

Saw Mr. Benson playing his Guild last Saturday evening on Austin City Limits. The music of The Ranconteurs did lilttle for me but I stuck with them because I enjoyed seeing the Guild. Bit peculiar but true.
