The red in this pic always looks a bit static. [img:514:623]http://static.flickr.com/123/321500306_f6367be83f_o.jpg[/img]

Yep, then there's the individual pc's color settings, so it translates slightly different on any given system.

Hi hideglue,

Whether or not that guitar started life as a 'natural' isn't all that important; that they thought the shot was good enough to promote the Bluesbird in the official Guild literature is much worse!

I'm with you Gary. I'm no electric guy, but what's wrong with it? Looks great to me. Is red not an origional color?

Whoa now big fellas. Have you seen the guitar photos in Hans' book? Best they can be, it seems to me. They will give you some clues about why he might believe this one to be sub-standard.

No, no peeks. Don't I wish.

Hans may choose to reply here. This is just me talking (probably through my hat as ever). But I do think that the photos in Volume 1 are the best guitar photos anywhere.

Hans says on the dustjacket
  • "We made it a point to try to do most of the photography ourselves. The main reason was that we wanted the photography to be consistent and in the same style throughout the book. . . . Many of the colour photos made by us were taken against the beautiful backdrop made by Marleen von Wigerden . . . at the time it did set a new standard for photography in guitar literature and it has been widely copied ever since.

So three guitars stacked on each other, lit by flashlights/candles or whatever, shadowed and low-contrast, against a mottled purple backdrop? Just not up to the mark.

I'd agree, the photos in Han's book are fine. Perhaps they have a little more knowhow & a better light system than yours truly.

I'm still, after 3 years trying to figure out how the noise filter works on my Olympus.

Images posted here have the resolution reduced dramatically. All but the finest of exposures show poorly . This image at "imagestation" has twice the resolution & shows much better. Still lousy but better.

Oh no, I wasn't necessarily bashing the color, nor the Bluesbird itself. Its just from the day that Gallery came in, something didn't quite look right (nevermind the intonation is strained to its limits).

I'm implying that its incredibly, most likely, nearly w/out a doubt....doctored. No biggie really. I just find it a bit amusing.
