A friend of mine who owns a music store has this nice little NOS Westerly StarfireII, sunburst, $995.00 with ohsc. It sounds great, even unplugged.

Problem is, I'm flat broke. Maybe he'll barter...

If that's the one I've played, that's a darn fine price! Nice burst too. Last time I was in, they were just about to try it on ebay.

That's a lot of guitar for $1000, for sure -- and if you're crazy about it, try to figure out a way to make it happen.

Recent Starfires go for this or less all the time, though, so I wouldn't feel a need to break the bank in order to lock it in. I don't mean to diminish the quality of the guitar (they're great), but this is not a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Probably not even once-in-a-month.

Smiert, being a NOS Westerly still in the store may not be a once in a life time deal, but far from common these days. Too bad it's not a III instead!
