I'm looking to change the (Fender) pickups on my 2001 SF IV (& thanks Hans for setting me straight on what I had) . Before I embark on this road, I'm wondering if anyone has experiences to share on this. I play Jazz, Blues, & am looking for a clean sound - the existing pickups are too hot. I'm so far considering Kent Armstrong pickups, since I've had good experiences with these before, and the price is reasonable, I'm looking at

1) KA Filteron
2) Humbucker packaged Single coil @ 7.8K
3) OEM Humbucker @ 7.8K

I'd use an original guild HB, but it won't fit

any views, advice out there ?

Any help appreciated

The pickups on my '01 SF-IV seem a bit dark sometimes, is that what you mean?
I like my neck pu for Jazz, but wouldn't mind a crisper bridge pickup.

I have some Rio Grandes in various concoctions I could try, but it would require changing the bezels too, as the Guilds have three adjustment screws vs two.

They all seem to be standard humbucker size otherwise.
Not sure what you mean about fitting?

The old style ( '60's small poles) Guild humbuckers I've seen look the same mostly.
