I've never really paid much attention to steel. That was great, thanks Darryl.

 Stop, your killin' me! Poor Jeffery. I'm here for ya' Jeff. Jeff, if it's any consolation to you, I thought she looked pretty hot in the picture with all the chains and stuff hanging around her waist and her pants unzipped. Reminded me of a nun I had as a teacher when I was in grade school.

Hot steel players are the best, Darryl's finding some interesting stuff.

It's all make me wanna get a F 412 & turn it into a 12 string electric dobro.

According to Will Martin, author of this book, quoted from page 32; "I once saw a picture of Arlo Guthrie playing a 12 string electric dobro".

There's a challenge for ya Darryl, find Arlo playing a dobro. [img:338:450]http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid219/p49dc1f965d6e5de5dff8b0a3d658829f/ebfa26c6.jpg[/img]

Dang. I never imagined anybody made one. But there's a guy named Roy Rogers (not Dale's sackmate) who plays a 12 string Dobro made by Gibson in the 60s. On youtube, it says these guys play one, but I can't tell. It looks like he might habe a Guild dread.

Roy Rogers (he claims his parents had a sense of humour) is WELL worth checking out !

A fabulous blues-based performer and man, can he rattle that 12 string Dobro.

I'm pretty sure, from the best of my memory, that he produced the John Lee Hooker "comeback" albums.

Darryl.

If you spring for this, you'll not only be treated by some fab. acts, but you'll see Roy Rogers explaining to us how Robert Johnson did it.
And I guarantee you'll go "faaaark!!!!!!"

Also a very nice performance from Guy Davis on a Stella 12-string.

I have only 3 R.R albums......."Blues On The Range", "Slidewinder", and "Slideways". I enjoy them all.

There's a fab. take on Terraplane Blues with John Lee, on "Slidewinder", and "Slideways" is an all-instrumental slide album.

Alison Krause & Union Station

Darryl Said
Do you know of any good dulcimer music you can post? Let's drive Coastie inland with that.

I've moved on from Dulcimer music,

Red & I picked up Alison Krause & Union Station on PBS this eve. Some nice acoustic picking, very nice !!!

Check out this Dobro player with Alison Krause;

now if Coastie doesn't go for this, well, I hear when you flush the toilets down there the water swirls in the wrong direction too (clockwise as opposed to the normal counter clockwise.) Maybe it's the bathtub drains, just a rumour I heard, could explain lot of things.

Dang you Darryl, I know better than to get involved with a Dobro but this thread is giving me serious Dobro GAS.
