This is new to me, can anyone provide information on a Bluesbird with a Fender style headstock? I've never seen one before, and this one, listed on eBay, is located very close to home. [IMG:547:612]http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r147/california91207/eBay/gbb3.jpg[/img]

Hello california91207,

That's the 4th incarnation of the Guild Bluesbird from the '80s. Actually, it's a rare variation with a bound maple top. The regular Bluesbirds didn't have that feature. The 'Fender style' headstock was the regular headstock for a lot of the '80s Guild solid bodies. Actually, there were quite a few different headstock shapes during that particular period but that's a complete story in itself. This one should not be confused with the more recent version of the Bluesbird, since it has a completely solid body.

Sincerely,

Hi All,

I am suprised I won this auction. My max $ was right on the edge. I didn't want to pay the same as a Nighbird. I suspect this one is more rare than a Nightbird but likely less in demand. However I do like owning the more unusual models.

The trick now is being able to accomidate the longer neck. Having owned a etzer slab guitar once before I know the neck is a bit of a reach compared to many other Guilds.
