I need someone's help figuring out exactly how to wire in a pair of Guild HB-1's into my '98 s-100 reissue. The seymour duncans that were in there were wired exactly like this: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wi ... t_3w_phase

Which is slightly different from how Guild shows it on there site: http://guildguitars.com/resources/wirin ... /S-100.pdf, the only real difference is the way it is wired to the phase switch.

The thing i am having trouble is that the Guild HB-1's have no lead wires on them. They have the four corner poles. There is a black wire that goes from one corner to the opposite corner, there is a green that goes from bottom left corner to screw in the middle, and there is a red wire that goes from the top right to a screw in the middle.(not really sure how to get picture on here) I am thinking the black wire on the Guild pups does the same thing that connecting the red and white wires does on the seymour duncans. So this would leave me with a hot wire and the ground. Right?

I am assuming that for the bridge pup the the red wire would attach to the phase switch where the black wire does in the seymour duncan diagram. And that the green would attach were the green one does.
And for the neck pup i think the red would attach were the black does on the volume pot and the green would attach to ground on pot.

But man i just don't know. If anyone knows if this is the right way or knows the right way please let me know. I am also wondering why Guild's diagram has the phase switch wired differently than on the seymour duncan diagram?
If anyone knows the answer to these questions you help would be very much appreciated.
thanks

Hello Dreamlander,

What you have are the Fender-designed humbuckers that were introduced at the end of the nineties and that replaced the original HB-1s.

Sincerely,

I understand that these are not original HB-1 pups. I just need to know if the way i am going to wire them in is correct.
