It would have to be one of these.

All handmade, and unique design for a double-cut archtop.

New from Godin

Very nice, Graham. I talked with a Godin player/fanatic in Memphis last week. Are you expanding to jazz?

I wish I could play jazz; its those strings what gets in my way when I try. It's all I can do to hold onto a pick... :( :?

Funny, that Godin headstock looks just like a Gretsch Duo Jet headstock.

Hello Walter,

Well, not only the headstock. Sure, they changed the curves of the body a bit but it is clear where they got some of their inspiration from. Nothing wrong with that though!

Sincerely,

Yep! That's a striking resemblance indeed. Now if Godin started finishing them in jaguar tan and putting a big fat DeArmond pickup on 'em.... :)

This is my favorite Non Guild

Taylor T 5. Short scale, easy to play, does a right fair passable Acoustic Electric facsimile.

Pretty sure it's the one I take if called to play emergency Electric Acoustic.

Speaking of Taylor Electrics; check out the new 08 Taylor electric line. Heard about em from Smitty, he saw them a NAMM & placed a good size order for the local shop.

Pretty things, probly dreadful expensive.

Gretsch G6122-1959. I have never played another electric guitar that worked so well for my finger picking style.

My only non guild would be this bass:

http://www.lefay.de/index.php?id=63

handmade in elmshorn, near hamburg, 3600 €.
the bassplayer of my gospelband just bought exactly this bass on the pictures Ser.No. 002.
The finest bass I ever had the chance to play, check out the soundfile-link on the left "Soundbeispiele"!

I don't really know why, but I've been fixated on basses lately. I really want one of these two. . .

What's kinda of goofy is that they're kind of similar to my current basses--mostly in looks only, though.

Only my Dearmond M-75T is even arguably Guild. Until I can find the Starfire hollowbody of my dreams, here's how I pass my time:

Yep -- the T5. And for pure acoustic, probably the Santa Cruz Vintage Southern.
