Hi Mark; no tubes ... runs on transistors ... can also be seen also on Kurt's Page. Have to wait for him on tone quality.

Sort of like playing your guitar through a transistor radio!

(Man that sounds familiar!)

These little amps sound better as they get bigger. ..five, six, seven...

Sure looks like that's where they sourced the Tweedy Bird.
I'm impressed Ron. I've never heard of that company before.

OK, let's take a good look at this.

On my Guild Models Four, through Seven, the placard says;
"Distributed by Guild Guitar". It then says "Elizabeth, NJ" and finally, "Made in Japan".

But, I have a second Guild Model Four that only kind of half works that I bought for the knobs. It's placard says;
"Aria Musical Instrument". "Model MX-60", and "Tiger Electronic Mfg." "Made in Japan. I have to wonder if the wrong placard got put on this amp.

I would say for sure that these amps were built by the same manufacturer. Obviously Aria had their amps "branded" Loco Box, and Guild had theirs "branded" Guild. I would think that if you ordered amps from "Tiger Electronic Mfg." they would "badge" it with any name you like. This is common practice with the oriental manufacturers.

Just for reference, here's my "Guild" amps;

And of course the "Seven" is a bass amp just like the Loco Box.

Do you think the guy from the Loco Box site would be interested in this info?

I'm sure he would be. I sent him some scanned LocoBox pages from an Aria dealer catalog I had (there's the Aria/LocoBox connection). He loves getting this kind of info for his site. His name's Jamie and tell him The EH Man sent ya!

Speaking of Guild 'Model'-series amps, a Model 2 (twin 10" or 12" speakers), reverb and tremolo, on eBay Here
