That would be Augustus Stanley Owsley, Washington & Lee HS, Arlington VA, class of '53. Owslely is credited with finding out how to synthesize LSD in large, commercially-viable quantities thereby enabling the Electric Kool-Ade Acid Test, the Human Be-In, and generally, the psychedelic age ... the virtues of which are still under consideration.
