I was just guided to this new talent by my boss who discovered her on YouTube just while surfing for other stuff.
I certainly hadn't heard of her. Have I been completely out of the loop or is this the new Jaco?

What do you bass guys know about her? Opinions?

You're only slighty out of the loop. :?

She's been all the rage on the "Talkbass" forum for a while now.

She really hit it big playing with Jeff Beck at the Clapton show last year.

Her Website (http://www.talwilkenfeld.com/Tal.html)

Her Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tal_Wilkenfeld)

That ought to get ya up to date!

as a bass player, she makes me want to burn my instruments. as a personality, she makes me want to start carrying candy in the pockets of my overcoat. how do you suppose it feels to be 25 years old and have Jeff Beck bow and salaam to you on stage after your solo?

she's a very talented player. great technique!
the only thing that bothers me a bit is that sound... i know it's a matter of opinion, but i feel like it's the same fender jazz-bass sound you hear on sooo many modern jazz records.
no character in my opinion...

Tal is definately a talent, but my 2 cts are she only got the "girl bonus" and she is far away from being revolutionary like Jaco was for the bass.
If there is anybody out there who is revolutioning the electric bass at the moment it is this guy: Victor Wooten
and his new workshop dvd is blowing me away at the moment:
