Thank you Carl. we lived in a house that we always thought of as temporary for 7 years, then moved to my mother's old house where we've paid rent for almost 2 years now while we live out of boxes. We've saved our money a long time for this, a year to decide on a plan and another year to get it on paper, now 6 months to build it.....we're sort of looking forward to the move too  .
We drove out this evening and after their white bosses left the site, I handed the Hispanic masonry crew a case of Corona, their boss, in broken English said, "I don't drink, but my crew does", they were very appreciative, but not as much as I appreciate them, believe me. I'll have to think of something else for "Angel"...the boss. I'm telling you, I've never seen such a group of incredibly hard working and talented craftsmen in my life. The fireplace is exactly what I wanted. Talked them into doing a fire pit and mailbox today too
. Just for sitting around while we pick you know.
