Shucks, I play that every night just to warm up before the "hard" stuff.
Don't you?

Wow, that is beautiful, Jim.
I never heard that before.
Thanks for posting. :D

I may just have to try to create a version of that.

I sure hope you'll be able to go to see him.
He hasn't been to the Pittsburgh area for about 4 years. (last time I saw him)

Can't think of anything of his that I don't like.
Those two are definitely some of his best. :D

He's popped into a couple of local churches each of the past 3 or 4 years. He's scheduled at my church in May. :D

Why do you have to live so far away? :(

I think you should move closer.

Now that you have experience building a new house, doing it a second time will be easier.

See....we're only a short drive away Carl. Its too cold here in the winter (50's today), and you want me to move north?

I'd probably hit the traffic jam of all of the masons going to Jim's house to lay brick.

Then that would add a few hours.

You'd have to show up tomorrow then Carl, I think they'll finish all but the mailbox and firepit out back tomorrow. Those two items will be last.

We'll get you guys some pictures with the brick and stone and scaffold removed this week. Cabinets will be ready for installation next week, and they start interior paint tomorrow, then lights and flooring....hey, we're almost there!

Thank you Carl. we lived in a house that we always thought of as temporary for 7 years, then moved to my mother's old house where we've paid rent for almost 2 years now while we live out of boxes. We've saved our money a long time for this, a year to decide on a plan and another year to get it on paper, now 6 months to build it.....we're sort of looking forward to the move too  .

We drove out this evening and after their white bosses left the site, I handed the Hispanic masonry crew a case of Corona, their boss, in broken English said, "I don't drink, but my crew does", they were very appreciative, but not as much as I appreciate them, believe me. I'll have to think of something else for "Angel"...the boss. I'm telling you, I've never seen such a group of incredibly hard working and talented craftsmen in my life. The fireplace is exactly what I wanted. Talked them into doing a fire pit and mailbox today too :D . Just for sitting around while we pick you know.
