I did a little cosmetic work on my Epi Dot.
I had a new pickguard engraved with a design I worked up.
Replaced the TR cover with an appropriately named one.
Terrapin Guitars did the engraving.

Looks quite cool!

I've found some Epi's are decent (like my housemate's Les Paul) and some feel like junk (like every SG I've played).

It's all a matter of taste. I put an EMG 81 in a Series 10 once and loved it. Played and sounded great.

I'm not a hollow/semi-hollow player so I have no idea, but it looks sweet.

My first guitar was a 1968 Yamaha SA50 (essentially a Gibson E335 clone).
I saw this hanging up at a local shop and after playing it, I had this wave of nostalgia hit me.
It followed me home and made friends with the rest of my family.

What's the significance of the rose?

Not much of a story.
When I brought it home, my daughter took one look at it and said "You should call it Rose".
I don't argue with the women in my house.
So, Rose it is.

Wimp !!

I gave in a long time ago.
As long as I acknowledge that they're running things, I get to indulge in my little hobbies.
I just built my wife a new computer, so I got the Dot.
I repaired my daughter's car, (a little fender bender in a parking lot), I get the satisfaction of a job well done.
Well, that one didn't equal out on my end too well .
