Actually a variant of a virus that's been around for a while, it seems to effect folks that aren't up to date on their Windows patches and have file-sharing services (like Bearshare).

There are plenty of free antivirus programs out there. If your Nortons or Macafee subscription has run out, and you can't update it any more, it's just burning cpu time. Here's a couple.
