Hey all,

I thought you might enjoy seeing and hearing my first couple of guitars. The sound clips were performed by my wife, bdeclee, here on the forum. Thanks Barbara.

Feedback very welcome and thanks for looking,

Chris.

Here are a couple of guitar number 1. It's a 000, 24.9 scale, mahogany back and sides, with a sitka spruce top. Scalloped bracing in standard X pattern.

And this is guitar number 2. It's an OM, 25.5 scale, east Indian rosewood back and sides, with a redwood top. Unscalloped bracing in standard X pattern. No finish. I'll be keeping it around the shop to play.

Really, really, nice.

Seems like that second guitar has some serious sustain.

Songs were nicely played, too.

Very impressive all around, Chris!
You and Barbara are indeed a dynamic duo! Those guitars just ring and the playing is right on.
April Come She Will is a long-time favorite of mine and it's always good to hear someone else do it justice.
Big Yellow Taxi speaks to me as well.

Thanks to both of you for sharing,
Joe

Thanks everyone for the kudos, we really appreciate it. I'm mailing number 2 out to a musician in Illinois today, for a look and some recording. Gotta sell some of these, so I have room to build some more!

Here are a few pics of number 3, which is out for a pro finish and amberburst right now. It's black walnut and englemann spuce.

A shot after pore filling by Joe White. It looks greenish in this shot, but will be walnut colored for real under finish.

Back to the shop I go......

Beautiful all the way around. Even thru these crummy computer speakers I hear the variety of tones. Great stuff.

Thanks for all the compliments, both on Chris' builds and my playing, such as it is.

Barbara,
I said it before and it bears repeating that you guys are a "dynamic duo." (I love quoting myself! :D )

April Come She Will has a really special meaning for me and your rendition practically had me in tears over morning coffee. I just might go back and have another listen (with fresh coffee!).

Thanks again,
Joe

Sweet looking guitars! That walnut/amber burst will be to die for, I'm sure

Sweet picking too, bd! "April Come She Will" is one of the first songs I learned on the guitar, I thought I was pretty special when I learned to play Em and Am  Funny how a song can transport you back in time, isn't it?

I mock both your modesties.

Mockmockmockmock. Some sweet sounding fiddles and fiddling. :D
