Hey, I once saw some folks passing one of those back and forth at a Grateful Dead show.

Wasn't no music comin' out of it either.

I do have a few Dead shows under my belt, and I think maybe an ocarina is about the only thing I haven't seen passed around. Maybe it was a Zappa show?

Maybe I was seeing things.

Seriously, I recall seeing one of those in a music store years ago, don't recall if it was Gretsch branded. Do you know how to play it?

I think it's supposed to be easy to play. just a c major scale, blows like a whistle on a Northbound train.

The first time I ever heard the word ocarina was in a parody of "Wild Thing". The "singer" was Senator Bobby Kennedy and Senator Ted Kennedy had an ocarina solo.

Mrs. Fro. (the potter and instructor) makes ocarinas sometimes. Maybe I should see if she can add a G shield to them.
