Well I just got my new Pilot bass back together! (In case you were following the "Pilot Bass finish" thread)
Ta-da!
So what's so rare about? It's a SB-600 not a 602! As long as I've been chasing Pilots I've never seen one of these turn up. Matter of fact, I didn't even know what it was until I plugged it in and the volume was too low. I went to change the battery for the active pick-ups and found there was no battery! That's because it has passive DeMarzio P/J pick-ups in it! Almost all Pilots came with active EMG's and once in a while you'll find one with Bartolini's. Those are all SB-602's.
I'm totally stoked to take it to band rehearsal tomorrow night and see what it sounds like through my gig rig!
It's also cool 'cause it matches my first Pilot;
This is a SB-602 with EMG's and a Kahler tremolo
