I have often bristled when someone describes a Guild JS bass as a "JetStar". As far as I am concerned a JetStar is the "gumby" shaped instrument from the 60's and a JS is the double cutaway from the 70's. However I am wrong and Hans and Grot have both exhibited evidence showing that Guild sometimes used the JetStar designation for a JS at least in the early 1970's. With that in mind (even if my search fu did not find links to the evidence) I note a 1973 JS II on eBay. The seller includes a picture of the label (on the back of the control cavity cover). The handwritten portions of the label say
thus establishing Guild's use of the name as late as 1973. (Not sure how long seller will keep images available, but here goes...)Jet Star Bass II Walnut
