I'm not gigging. But I am doing a lot of recording.

Here is one I finished last week.

Let me know what you think. That lovely guitar you hear alas, is not a Guild.
It's a big Marcellis-brand arch-top. Very rare & wonderful.
It cost me $225 (counting getting my name etched on the headstock.)

Here's a pic of my set-up.
mynewspace2.jpg

(My 1997 F65ce is not in the photo. It's by my bed).

Backing Tracks: Korg M3 module (big white thing above the keys) & a 1990 Kawai K1 synth module
(bottom rack unit).

Guitar: My wonderful Marcellis-brand arch-top.

Piano: Roland RS50 (bottom keyboard) & Yamaha MU90R synth module (second rack unit from bottom).

I'm not picky about piano sounds, because I'm not a trained pianist. The Roland sound is fine for me.

I am picky about orchestral string sounds though.
You hear the M3m's analog string pad blended with the
1990 Kawai K1 string pad. I like how that sounds.

Sequencer: Korg M3m's internal sequencer.

Digital Audio Software: SoundForge 9.0 bounced off two laptops. First pass, backing tracks
& live piano. Second pass, electric arch-top. Then I mixed them together in SF.

I have Cubase 5.0 but I'm not happy about its MIDI functioning. It's pretty good for
digital audio though.

The arch-top is run through a tremolo on my cheap reverb (Lexicon MPX 110).

:D Very nice indeed Marcellis, I've enjoyed that one here with my morning coffee.
Lovely archtop there too! Man she is nice and big! mahogony? floating pup. and great 'burst finish! WOW. I'd love to give that one a try!
Was that one made there, for you? Do they sell others? More photos? Is there a contact?
....Did I mention I like that Archtop Guitar of yours?
Good to see you back 'round here.

My arch-top kills anything on the market as far as sheer acoustic volume goes.
Made by my luthier in Vietnam. Kent Armstrong floating pick-up cost extra.

You can hear it sounds really nice plugged in. It's almost as loud as my
D60 unplugged. It's the only arch-top I've played that can be heard in a crowd
of dreads & jumbos. I string it with .10's too.

Lower bout is almost 18". It's almost five inches deep at the hump.
Hog B&S, carved Spruce top. I may get another one made this year, blonde
w/Maple B&S.

I bought this one three years ago. There were some defects in it.
They screwed up the binding dots. But I got everything fixed beautifully.
And it has really made a difference in my recordings.

I've got a Duane Eddy style Country number I'm recording with it now.
Not finished. But here's an early mix.

I'll PM you Mr. Binh's email address.
