I'd love to play that thing to hear what is sounds like. They made almost 700 of them too, which is a lot more than you would think.

I have a different version of a combined rosewood/mahogany guitar. See link below
http://www.massstreetmusic.com/store/sh ... id-Cutaway
It is my first steel string. I don't find it especially overwhelming, though a decent guitar for the money. One difference from the Martin MTV is that the Martin has rosewood on the bass side, and mahogany on the treble side. The Eastman has the rosewood on the treble side and mahogany on the bass side. I think the Martin version would tend to accentuate the qualities of the respective bass/treble tones, while the Eastman would tend to mute them. Never having played a Martin MTV I do not know for sure.

Harmony H-173 bought in 1960 (retired), Alvarez AC60S 2008, Eastman AC320ce 2008 "Hybrid", Guild D25M 1974, Martin Grand J35E 2009, Martin D12-20 1970, Martin OM-21 2009, Martin 00-15M Custom (full gloss, wide neck) 2011, Voyage-air VAOM-06 2010
"I'm glad there are a lot of guitar players pursuing technique as diligently as they possibly can, because it leaves this whole other area open to people like me."
