Thunder mentioning that Soundgarden's new LP will be out in October got me thinking about the good old days, when you did not have to wait long for new music from your favorite bands.

Is it OK to still be amazed at how many albums the Beatles put out in such a short time? I might add, high quality stuff, too!

Unbelievable...

The dates are DD/MM/YY:

26/04/63 Please Please Me
22/11/63 With the Beatles
19/06/64 The Beatles For Sale
10/07/64 A Hard Day's Night
4/12/64 Beatles For Sale
6/08/65 Help
3/12/65 Rubber Soul
5/08/66 Revolver
1/06/67 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
22/11/68 The Beatles (a.k.a. The White Album)
17/01/69 Yellow Submarine
26/09/69 Abbey Road
6/11/70 Let it Be

And, of course, Please Please Me was done in one 12 hours session!

Well, yeah, but they cheated and used 4 movie soundtracks and a TV special for 5 of 'em.

The Beatles were a beacon for me as a teen, so I was in continual amazement!

Malcolm Gladwell talks about their accomplishments from an interesting perspective in his book Outliers.
