Perfect day in the Pacific Northwest....73 degrees with blue sky and a light southwest breeze off the water. Doesn't get much better than this!

It's a wonderful time of year in these parts, and time for our annual perspective-gathering getaway to the other side.
We'll head east for a week to sample a little bit of the warmer/drier side of the Cascades, now that the snowplows have opened the way through as much as 60' of snow at Washington Pass.

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again!

Low 70's here as well with nighttime temps in the mid to upper forties. Just had a good two day soaking with the rest of the week forcasted dry. Everything is lush, clear and beautiful and the garden is coming on strong! I've been debating whether to purchase a canoe or a kayak but that kayak sure looks appealing :)

I sold my Old Town canoe on craigslist to make the transition.
The canoe came in at just under 80 pounds....the kayaks 37, and the FQ (fun quotient) is high in many ways.
They're stable and track really well.

*I'll need to modify a couple of things before I take my cameras onboard.

Consider the kayak,

Couldn't resist feeding your thread Joe with a different scenery from my kinda kayaking here in South Florida, but one I like a lot too.
Here's my 2.65m boat:

And here's the Loxahatchee river where I do most of my paddling:

I always make some interesting encounters, like this nice 12 footer

I even had the privilege to catch a glimpse (for a couple of seconds before she ran away so no pic sorry) of a black panther.... pretty rare.
