The 1,000-foot Great Lakes bulk carrier Indiana Harbor had just entered the Duluth harbor under the Aerial Lift Bridge yesterday afternoon and the next vessel going through the canal is ... a kayak.

 And I don't think he's going to be able to catch him!

It's cool watching big ships. I took a cruise several years ago and we parked it in Nassau. I got off the ship and to my disbelief, we could see the bottom of the keel (maybe 40 ft.) below the surface. That ship was 900 ft. long. It's amazing that they float and just as amazing that a 747 can fly.

West, I was a crewmember aboard the carrier USS Ranger and they didn't park it just anywhere

Then, I suppose you can darn well park an aircraft carrier anywhere you want

When we and the Enterprise were homeported at Alameda NAS, they reportedly hooked the Big E's nuclear reactor into the energy grid and powered parts of the city during a blackout.
