Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth on 60 years. I just loved these photos, and especially the Queen's smile in the first one; Corgis everywhere!

Watched this show last night, and really enjoyed all the vintage footage. Well worth your time if you have it.

Love the corgis, but this whole royalty game leaves me gasping for fresh air. Bottom line: I don't quite understand all the associated hoopla/pomp and circumstance.

But, I guess that's the way it is when you come from regular old peasant stock.

In the UK, at least royalty is explicitly labeled and apparently willingly granted.

The monarchy is the symbol of their rich cultural heritage, seriously, no sarcasm intended.
I mean it's like 1100 years just goin' back to Alfred the Great.
WE should make it that long, Lord willing...
But just for makin' a livin' I betcha you'da loved bein' a photog on the staff of the DAILY MAIL on that occasion.
Makes my Scots heart beat proud, it does. :D

Same here Al. Dad was a direct import from Edinburgh, and I'm proud to descend from a long line of barbarians.

I'm still convinced golf was invented by Scots who had nothing but sticks and rocks to fight off Viking raids. Think about it: you're up on a bluff overlooking the cove or beach they're getting ready to land in. Just throwing rocks at 'em may not give you the range you need, but by uisghe if you swat the thing with a stick, you get range and velocity.... :D
Still, there are a lot of red-headed Scots, eh?

Same here, Joe. The only thing I like better is that "black Irish" look. 8)

Oh no, nothing wrong with redheads...just sayin' that maybe we didn't try to hold off those Viking hordes as forcefully as we could have...and maybe now we know why...
