Didn't intend to, but I left an open container on the table at my campsite on my first night out. That was the same night that the ceiling fell with brilliant lightning and rolling/crashing thunder throughout the night.

Impromptu rain gauge

You can see for yourself how much rain fell in 6-8 hours. :shock:
It was a real frog strangler....as Andy Griffith might have said.

I once heard someone refer to a violent storm as, " ... a real fester whipper ..."
That one invokes an entirely different image.

Tha was a lot of rain you got in one night. I hope you weren't in a tent.
