Reminds me of the first time I was called "sir" Cliff.

God help me when somebody calls me "spry". Hopefully I'll be so decrepit by then they won't.

A young person got up and offered her seat on the bus to me one time. Then I knew I wasn't one of 'them'. Oh well, it was nice to sit down. 8) Steffan

One of my prized possessions is my Golden Eagle Passport to national parks, national forests, campgrounds, BLM lands, national wildlife areas, etc., etc.
Hey, I earned it....and I use it! :D

Here is another knee slapper...

God, grant me the Senility
To forget the people
I never liked anyway,
The good fortune
To run into the ones I do,
And the eyesight
To tell the difference.

*I don't leave home without it.

No Al, you're confusing that with one of our major tourist attractions. Steffan

Sounds like the makins of a decent toast. Hope you're spry til you die so here's mud in your eye or some such tomfoolery. I thought I was handling my age pretty well but that hit me like a 2x4 up side the head. OY.

When you use the word, (tomfoolery). It's time for some deep introspection and time to consider yourself lucky to still be spry.

Yeah I kind of have a hard time with all that newfangled "hep talk" myself.

Being called "spry" is a compliment - think of the alternative!

I sure hope it wasn't followed by,"...for your age.". That would have been a sufficient provocation for you to respond with a threat of violence as in, "yeah, spry enough to pop you in the nose".
