Destructive landslide caught on video

Father and two teenage daughters missing following the landslide.. they found body of the father and one of the daughters.Housee was partly buried. They might have been having breakfast. We're pretty small when nature acts up. Steffan

Don't know yet if this was the result of a debris dam bursting upslope, but we've had several of them right here in the past few years.
FYI: Logging debris builds up and eventually blocks a small creek allowing water to build up behind it. When the pressure becomes too great, this is what happens.

That plus major prolonged rain that saturates the ground and sometimes the ground isn't 'tied' together after its been logged, and those mountains are beautiful but big, and when the side of a mountain lets go, not much you can do...I think that slide was about 2000 feet wide and a few miles long....if you are in its path......thats it.. Steffan....
