Yesterday I helped Mrs. Zulu put the finishing touches on a detail job. While most of the aircraft we work on are just expensive toys, sometimes we get to work on expensive toys that are a part of history, like this 1945 P-51 Mustang. This is just a crummy cellphone pic, but trust me, we had this baby glistening.

Is Rosalie the name of the plane or the pilot?

Thanks guys. Rosalie is the name of the plane-named after the owner's daughter. The owner/pilot has two Mustangs, the other one, "Sizzlin' Liz" is named after his other daughter. We're detailing that one next, so come on out George!

Sizzlin' Liz was in Europe during WWII, while Rosalie has been in the states her whole life.

Here's a few more photos:

Note the " iTow Bot " under the tail wheel, an ingenius remote controlled aircraft tug. I've wanted one of these for the hangars where I work, but at $7000 I can't get upper management to approve.

Is it wrong to admit that you love two sisters? Rosalie and Sizzlin' Liz are simply gorgeous. Well done, Z-man.

Thanks all!

You're right, bikerdoc, considering they are pics from a cellphone, not half bad.

Neat! Are those planes still flown?

Yes! Nothing like the sound of a P-51 doing a low pass at 300 mph.
