You mean the one with the upside down TRC?

I did a similar pose with the six Guilds I owned at the time of the photo...

... and here's the full-body shot (only the S-100 remains)

Yeah that one...I see alot of those trussrod covers upside down and not just on Guilds.
The way I look at it is whatever works for the owner of the guitar.
I personally like them the way they were when they left the factory.
..whatever... 8)

Nice pics of Six

Well, the story is a bit different. The old Guild TRC resembles a shield.
Later on the Guild TRC had the shape of the headstock, the upper area is the wider area.

Source of the 3 pictures below is Hans Moust's website:

TrussRodCover12.jpg

So those type of Guild TRCs are always mounted with the wider area on top, never upside down like Gibson or Taylor does.
If there is something written on a Guild TRC it should always be readable from the right hand side, never from the left hand side. (except it is a left hand guitar!)

Whereas the Gibson TRC, like the one below, resembles a "antique bell" (just remember, Guild does not resemble a bell):

when I get home tonite I'm going to switch all my TRC's so that they are all upside down! Ya bunch of truss rod cover freaks!
I'm pretty sure there's a rule somewhere that that's not allowed.

You know, I'm thinking there are a lot of people who get upset about TRCs and some of them might even be offended. I'm wondering whether we moderators should start watching out for that and either removing the offending pictures or at least forcing people to click through. What do you folks think?

I guess I assumed it was all kinda a joke and that all of the Guild heads just like pointing it out? And I of course like feeding any fire that I can...

Back to the original question. Guild on Bottom left in first picture:

Aside from that trussrod cover being on a "different way",

which guitar would have a non bound headstock,
Grover Sta-tites,
no black lines in the center Chesterfield column,
and a block inlay fingerboard???

Just curious :?

F-47MC and F-47RC for instance.
They have Gotoh® 700 Series Nickel-Plated Open-Back Tuners, not Grover Sta-tites however.
There are probably more from older times.

No, I think he's only not allowed to post pics of deliberately disoriented TRC's...

Thanks for the reply.
There is a possibility that the tuners were changed at some point.
Wonder who took that picture???

While the headstock on the upper right may look bound, I believe that is a perfect example of the classic Guild headstock faceplate shrinkage!

For what ever reason, the layer behind the faceplate is white and when it shrinks it appears to be binding. My '67 Starfire V is like this and I couldn't stand it so I took some easily removed enamel paint and painted over the white.

I seem to recall a thread titled "Show us your Guilds"?
Unfortunately the "search" limiters I can think of give a lot of returns, but not that one, which I think is less than 2 years old.
Or if you actually have the title of the thread you got it from, I'm sure many of us could ID the actual source, if it's just that you're not sure who posted it in the thread.
I remember seeing too.
It was one of the "oldtimers", IIRC.
