I'd forgetten how many songs he wrote. I immediately thought of "Games People Play," great song. RIP Joe.

The life of a touring Musician must be a very rough one.
As I read the article about Joe South, it was all too common to many other Artists.
It's a shame that such gifted people have to suffer so much in life.
Perhaps that suffering is what made their music so good.
RIP Joe South.

Thanks for the memorable songs you wrote, Joe, and Rest in Peace.

"Dont it make you wanna go home"
Thanks Scratch, I haven't heard , or thought of that song in many many years, But once I clicked onto it....It all came back to me. I even remembered many of the lyrics. Sign of a good song I think.
Some great memories attatched there too.
Glad you revived that one for me.

Hey John,
That was one of our favorites in Vietnam.

In a later life, I would key up that song on the office intercom at 5PM on Friday afternoons and the staff would start singing it as they prepared to go home for the weekend. Lots of good memories.

I don't think Joe received enough credit for his songwriting skills... He was quite good in my opinion...

I've long been a fan of his singing/songwriting abilities.
Except for the country crowd, there's really nothing much going on today in the pop music scene.
Many of us here lived through, and played guitars during the golden days, and when We're all gone, I'm afraid much of the music such as Joe South's, will be lost.
