For those that don't read Norwegian:
This morning 23 year old Andrew was rescued after spending a wet and cold night alone on the Gaustatoppen mountain.
On his day trip yesterday he was caught by bad weather, lost the marked trail, and in the difficult terrain did not risk going further.
A Sea King helicopter located him but could not land or pick him up because of the weather.
An alpine rescue team finally escorted him down. He was wet, cold and tired but very relieved and determined not to let his first trip in Norwegian mountains be his last.

By coincidence I had planned to walk the exact same route on sunday.
A few hours before we heard on the news that he was missing, my buddy and I changed our plans after checking snow conditions and weather forecasts.

Nice to see a happy ending. People die in Norwegian mountains almost every year. Weather can change incredibly fast, and not everybody have the sense to do what this young man did, call for help and stay put.

He should've watched 'Survivor Man' spend 10 days in the Norwegian mtns. before going out. I think even he was up against more than he could handle.
