On the eve of the release of their first record in 16 years, Soundgarden played on Letterman last night. After playing Been Away Too Long, on the broadcast, they didn't a mini-show afterwards, both of which can be found here.

Our favorite S-100 son played a Firebird on the broadcast. What's up with that?
(In case that guitarworld.com link doesn't work, try this...)

During the lengthier mini-show after the broadcast, Mr. Thayil starts out again with the Firebird and then switches to the trusty S-100 for a blistering By Crooked Steps ...
King Animal, Soundgarden's new album, is out today and in my hands right now. Oh, and I've got tickets to see them play Feb. 2 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.
