Well it's that time of year again, lotta travelin' goin' on, and one of the ways I let people know I really care is to remind 'em to check their tire pressures. And pass it on.
Lotta folks don't realize more tire failures occur due to under-inflation than over-inflation because the sidewalls overheat when under-inflated causing blow-outs or folding of the tire under the rim in a sudden emergency maneuver. That can cause a rollover...
Also when you're down there you can make sure there aren't any other little surprises just waiting to ambush you at the worst possible moment... nail in the tread..big chunk of rubber gouged out from a pothole and exposing belts..you get the idea...
So, I check mine at least twice a month and I've even taken to doing a quick walkaround visual every time I get to the car now. I got those super-low profile sidewall tires now (they're stock), and it's hard to even tell if they're flat or low with out really looking...
Lastly, keep being careful out there, no matter how good you try to be, you just never know when someone might have a catastrophic failure right nest to you, even if they're driving just as carefully as you are!
