Lost some legends this past week

Three pioneers of r&b passed away this past week -

The great Mickey 'guitar' Baker, perhaps the most recorded guitarist in r&b, had the million seller 'Love Is Strange' in the '50's.

I know what you meant, but wouldn't "Penguins of Earth" be a great name for a band?

That's how I read it at first!

All super talents. Mickey Baker was on so many sessions in the '50s. His guitar work on some of Young Jessie's sides and on a few of Little Willie John's recordings come to mind. The Cadillacs were one of the rockin'-est R&B groups and Cleve Duncan's lead vocal on "Earth Angel" is unforgettable.
