I'm just going to play it to death now!

Just clarifying. Don't play to death, we'd like you to stick around a bit longer.

Enjoy the new guitar - I have the DV and JV equivalent of the GV52, and have always dreamed of a GV52 to complete the trio. Play it in good health!

Ok, now that I've had it for a few days it is time for some photos of my New (old) GV-52. They're not the greatest since I'm just using an IPhone, but you'll get the idea. I'm loving this guitar!

Congratulations, beautiful guitar. I have the lil bro of your jumbo, a DV-62. You mentioned that the highs are not so strong. I would say that is true about my DV-62, but that is just what I wanted for my style of play, which is mellow solo singing. And then of course as you mentioned, you can play closer to the bridge to bring out the highs. But the bass and mids, the chords, the feel and playability of these Westerlys are just unbeatable! I think we all enjoy hearing your enthusiasm, and vicariously are also enjoying your new guitar with you.

I wonder if that's the same as DV52- just different shape.

Yes it is, The GV52 was built with the same Vintage Voicing of the DV52. The difference is the GV52 is a Concert or Mini Jumbo body style as opposed to the Dread Body style of the DV52. The JV52 mentioned earlier in this thread was the 17" lower bout Jumbo of the series. They were all made during the same time period as well.
