Maybe. OTOH, I think Prince could have probably ordered any color he wanted from anyone.I think he meant 20 guitars in custom colors from various makers. I don't Guild even had 20 colors at the time, judging from the price list options, lol!

I continually appreciate that Prince is this singular figure. Even within Minneapolis.
I have a funny story from friends who recorded an album at Paisley Park. They called home to a friend in Connecticut, who was excited to tell them that he was going to see Prince perform that night, in Hartford. Except the band at Paisley park had just seen Prince walking the halls like 6-8 hours before show time. But Prince did in fact perform in Hartford that evening. You know . . . because he's Prince.
Flight time is claimed to be 2 hours, 35 minutes, and Prince had access to private/chartered jets so just maybe....
I have this very guitar LE WG Blue D-30 it is also a 1991 like the JF30-12.Funny you should mention that, saw a D30 in Woodgrain Blue while I was searching those first two:

Another pretty rare color for those, used for some "Limted Editions", like the JF30-12. That D30 appears to have the "Limited Edition" TRC, too.
BTW Tom those normally had 1-11/16 nuts but we've seen some with 1-5/8 so you need to hold it in your hand first.
Welcome aboard! Are you saying you bought that guitar? Nice.I have this very guitar LE WG Blue D-30 it is also a 1991 like the JF30-12.
It occurred to me if it was really Prince's guitar it'd be purple.Forget Ry Cooder. Prince is now the face of the G37.
Thanks. Yes got that one the 12 string WG Blue was the only other one i could find anywhere on the net. It is how I found this site very little info online, I also found another WG Red that I think a member here has.Welcome aboard! Are you saying you bought that guitar? Nice.
If they were sprayed in polyurethane (which I believe) there would be no yellowing. Only NC lacquer turns yellow.Has the color held up (I mean, not yellowed, that is)?
I'm 99-44/100% certain that era of WGB is NCL. The only poly I recall being used for sure on Westerly "flattops" was on the "FS" and "DS" models which technically weren't even true acoustics. Think the poly version (actually "satin acrylic") was only used in Corona on the D25's.If they were sprayed in polyurethane (which I believe) there would be no yellowing. I can see it in the pic of the side. Finish might have actually worn off? (Magnifying lens)Yes I had to go take a look again and you are right there is a slight yellowing but only on the sides of the binding top and bottom are white. It is kind of like half the width in a straight line on the sides strange.
