Guild always used (and still uses) some really great spruce.

You know what I literally just now realized? The F-112 doesn't have fret markers! Side dots, yes, which is really all you need.

Yes, Hans once said: "Position dots were introduced on the 12 strings during 1978." (G-212, G-312, F-212, F212 XL, F-112 all had no dots in 1976 as example)

Side dots, yes, which is really all you need.

Unless you're playing live and the lighting person changes things. In one such instance, the side dots on my guitar completely disappeared. It was like driving on a four-lane highway and suddenly the lane indicators disappeared.

Shortly after that I added fretmarkers to all my guitars that didn't have them.
