That is gorgeous! The serial number looks to be 198x or something like that. I have a 1954 Aristocrat with serial number 1969. Mine has the same headstock inlay but with the G below the Guild. My understanding is that 1954 is the year that had a few headstock inlay evolutions. However, I don‘t have the Guild Book with me at the moment to confirm. It looks really nice! Looks to have been a case queen as the pickup covers, switch tip, and other parts have not aged as much as mine. As others have said, if you like the way it plays and you trust the seller, that looks like a great one to purchase.
How does it sound plugged in? Mine had extra caps and resistors from the factory in the original wiring. I kept everything original but bypassed the extra caps and such. Without pulling the harness (which is a little bit of a pain on the Aristocrat due to the thin body), you can see if the pots are wired “normal” by checking the resistance at the output jack. Mine would not read correctly until I bypassed the caps and resistors at the pots. Mine also had a cap on the pickup switch making the neck very dark. I unsoldered one end. It was dark before but now sounds amazing!
