Been mulling this one over for about a week and finally struck a deal for a 68 F-112 from Hoboken. Its the last serial number listed on all the serial lists for 1968, so that's cool. And Hans confirmed it's a Hoboken.
Shop around the corner from me picked this one up from a customer who didn't want to invest in repairs. To be playable (for me) it's going to need a neck reset, but there are also some interesting humidity related issues with the top that I'll try to correct. The top sinks near the soundhole, but ahead of the x-bracing and all the braces seem tight. Same with th bridge plate. The sinking wasn't tension related as there is zero bulge behind the bridge. Either way, the only thing structurally it needs is the reset and a new saddle. If i can humidify the top a little, it'll just be a bonus!
Shop owner was considering keeping it and doing the reset, but decided to pass it on. He knows I'm a Guild guy and was hoping I'd bite. We worked out a fair deal for all, considering the work that needs to be done, and he even threw in an 80s D25 case that i needed for another guitar.
She will be a little project for awhile as i see what some humidity can do before i have the neck reset and think about things like the frets. Im also really digging into strings. He had put what i think is a custom set of DR Tite Fit .009s in it, which are nickel electric strings, and the feel was really there. Sound was surprisingly nice, too, but i want to try something of similar tension but bronze. So any recommendations, im all ears!
