One of his favorite places to go do his secret cat things. I usually have it blocked off but the Pelican case I use for that is still in the garage waiting to be unpacked from the eclipse.

Yeah,

Don't leave dresser drawers open. I have several pix of my cats lounging on my sweaters. Wife say that'll teach me.

I once closed a dresser drawer with a cat sleeping in it, unnoticed by me. She slept for several hours so it wasn't traumatic for her but I certainly learned my lesson.

How'd she get out or how did you find her? Lots of noise and screaming??

I have suppressed the memory but I think we went looking for her because we could not find her. I do remember opening the drawer, she looked at me, stood up, stretched and jumped out.

I'm not really sure but if I remember later I'll do a heft-test.

Closed the closet door with "fat cat" inside around 5ish before I left for work. Shredded several ties before my wife heard him.

He's a cute one.

Ours like to get locked in the cellar once in a while and you really can't hear her yowling, climbing the door and shredding the foam insulation off. Apparently not totally getting it, it's happened a few times.

Speaking of animals getting stuck somewhere in the house. Last fall, there was a med sized black snake in my basement laundry room. Startled the heck out of me. I went to get a rake to use to get the thing out of the house...and that was the last I ever saw the thing. I live in a 4 level split level house w/ radiant heat downstairs, so it could have gotten under the slab by following the copper pipes through the block wall. If their head can fit in, the rest will fit. For the next few weeks, I always opened the laundry/furnace room door w/ caution...and always checked the rafters as they are great climbers. I'd been expecting to see him again in recent weeks trying to get back outside, but have seen no signs of him. I checked all around the outside and found the only place it could have gotten in...where the AC line set comes in through the vinyl siding under a low overhang. All the old duct seal had dried up and fallen away. I didn't want to reseal it and not leave a route of escape. So....I've just put it out of my mind. I hope it got back out, but I have a feeling there is a 2 1/2 ft long potato chip of a snake remnant either inside the furnace...or under my clothes dryer. I'll find out eventually. I'm not too bothered.

I don't know about black snakes they're non-venomous but I don't know their personalities.... My friend Jason just found a snake in Texas.... he posted it and I was like, "Awwww, it's a ribbon snake... they're really nice and calm...." He just took a photo of it but I collected one in my youth and he was really nice. I kept him for about two weeks and kept him warm and fed.... and then I just let him go. The GOOD snakes.... Yeah??

When they start to rattle.... I get worried...
Black snakes are in the king snake family which will eat copperheads. But..depending on subspecies, they can be either quite timid and easily handled...or they can be complete bastards and want to strike anything that comes near...so I just leave them alone. I did pick up a garter snake in my yard just last week and walk it across the street to a wooded area. Otherwise my lawnmower may have done him in.

Ok, back to cats. 😗 😂

I was moving some of my guitars around last weekend and can confirm that my Guild alligator ”custom” cases definitely felt heavier than the same size “regular” Guild hard cases. I had not noticed before but after moving a few around it stuck in my mind

When I had my 1995 JF-30-12, the prior owner had put it in one of these cases, and -- well, let's say -- it made an impression. I was curious if they were all built that way or mine was unusual.
