I recently bought this beautiful 1979 Starfire 4 Guitar. I was looking for a lighter hollowbody guitar to replace my heavier solid body guitar. Unfortunately, the Starfire at 10 pounds is just as heavy as my solid body guitar, which my back can’t handle anymore. So, I’m putting this one up for sale. It is in excellent condition, everything works properly, plays beautifully, is structurally sound with no issues. Photos are from the original listing. Comes with original case. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Beautiful looking sunburst SF. I bet it sounds great with those pickups. Sorry it did’t work out for you. GLWS.

Thanks. I have ’67 and ‘71 Starfire basses, which are both much lighter, I was hoping the Starfire 4 guitar would be of similar weight. I will look into other Guilds and pay closer attention to weight ranges.

‘60s Starfires will seem more like home if you’re used to ‘60s basses.

I agree with GAD, but my recently bought 1975 SF-II is a feather and a joy to play even if the nut is a tad narrower than it used to be earlier (and later).
They don't often come up for sale (thanks again, Norrissey!) but Atomic Music in Beltsville, MD has one on Reverb that's been there for long.
Best of success with your sale, RVBASS, and good luck in finding one that's easier on your shoulders.

SFIIs are fabulous guitars, and a great choice if weight is the primary concern, but they’re very different from a SFIV.

That’s a super good deal! I’d normally jump at this without hesitation, but due to all of the other guitars I have recently purchased, I can’t afford it right now. Someone should grab this one ASAP!

That is a seriously good deal. Real HB1’s. Shocked it’s still here.
